project name: BUG MAGAZINE

bug is an experimental project with a backstory.


the year is 2099, humankind has lived alongside technology for more than 100 years, and has learned the ups and downs of what technology has to bring.

in this special issue of BUG, the Y2K-bug is remembered and celebrated as a thing of the past.


through the design process I wanted to pay tribute to some of the symbols and fonts of the early technological age.  as a teenage girl during Y2K, I read a lot of teen girl magazines, so the middle spread horse poster was a must.

in this magazine you can read about the first documented computer rage and why it used to happen in the early 2000’s. some 2099 current news about the first man to live on Mars, and some lists of preppers favorites when preparing for the end of the world in the year 2000’s.
